A restraining order is called a Personal Protection Order (PPO).
The 43rd District Court does not handle Personal Protection Orders.
They are only handled at the Circuit Court level, which would be
County Circuit Court in Pontiac.
A Personal Protection Order is available to anyone who has been
physically, emotionally or sexually abused by a spouse, former spouse,
family member, partner, parent of your child, current or former
roommate, or current or former dating partner. A PPO might also
be given if there is proof of stalking. The forms to request a PPO
can be obtained in the Oakland County Clerk's office in Pontiac.
