FILING LANDLORD/TENANT CASES

When filing a landlord/tenant matter with the court, you MUST provide the following on MiFile:
  • One (1) prepared summons.
  • One (1) prepared complaint.
  • One (1) prepared demand for possession
  • One (1) copy of the lease (if applicable).
  • One (1) copy of the local housing requirement (found on this page under Resources)
  • A copy of a valid landlord's license.

FILING FEES

$55 filing fee for possession
Additional filing fee for supplemental money damages:
  • $35 filing fee for damages up to $600
  • $55 filing fee for damages $600-$1,750
  • $75 filing fee for damages $1,750-$10,000
  • $160 filing fee for damages $10,000-$25,000
